I held off on finishing the septic tank cover until Terry came home from a weekend in Erie, PA. She was there for more classes with an EGA instructor. She says she learned a good deal and has yet another skill to apply to her projects.
I prepared everything--an additional supports for the asphalt roof--and we went out after lunch to put the roof in place.
The sheet material is 48" wide and the cover is only 74". As a result, there's quite a bit of overlap in the middle which is good. The extra weight will help to keep the thing in place when the winds blow.
The ridge cap was just the right length so no cutting was necessary. I drilled holes through which I nailed the roof pieces in place.
Here's a view from the opposite side of the structure. The entire thing measures 40" by 74" (measured along the ridge).

Not bad at all, sir. Well done!
That's the fanciest septic tank I've ever seen!
It's just the cover. Down below it's the same old....
I've seen many a well cover that looks nicer.
