Can we question their sanity now?

This woman needs to have her head handed to her. She is a total asshole.
Pelosi warns Petraeus on Iraq testimony

House Speaker Nancy Pelosi (D-Calif.) warned Army Gen. David Petraeus and Ambassador Ryan Crocker on Thursday “not to put a shine on recent events” in Iraq when they testify before Congress next week.

“I hope we don’t hear any glorification of what happened in Basra,” said Pelosi, referring to a recent military offensive against Shiite militants in the city led by the Iraqi government and supported by U.S. forces.

The only thing she and her Democratic cohorts would like to hear is that we are having our butts kicked.

Before they even hear a word of testimony, they have drawn conclusions as to what is correct and what isn’t. Just as Representative Murtha was so damn sure the Hiddatha marines had “murdered in cold blood,” the rest of the Dems are adamant in their notions of what is going on in Iraq. The pack of them make me sick.

They don’t give a f*ck about the truth. They can’t handle the truth. To them the truth requires a serious suspension of their own preconceived beliefs.

[You know, upon reflection, that last paragraph may be why Hillary and Obama have done as well as they have. Both play fast and loose with the truth.]

Things That Offend Muslims

Another one where I’m way late to the party. Here’s The List of Things That Offend Muslims.

It was started way back in February of 2007 but has been a “work in progress” as the poster notes. Well worth looking at again…and again….and….

Lots of items on the list will make you scratch our head and go, “Huh?” or “WTF?! Are these people crazy?” And nearly every item on the list contains a link to the origin.

Bastards!

On Thursday I posted that Geert Wilders’ Fitna was up on LiveLeak. On Friday LiveLeak was forced to take it down due to threats of violence and death. You can still click on the link, but it will take you to an explanation of why LiveLeak felt it was necessary to drop Fitna. The explanation speaks volumes about the intolerance of Islamists and Jihadists.

The missing video is not here any longer:

BUT:
While they may have intimidated LiveLeak into taking the video down, it is still available at Google Video.

And Bash over at Pat Dollard's seems to want to make sure Fitna remains available.

Geert Wilders’ Fitna

UPDATE: LiveLeak has been forced to pull the video. Click on the link to see thier reason for doing so. It speaks volumes about the intolerance of Islamists.

This video was at long last released this afternoon directly to the internet via LiveLeak. A brief 15 minutes long, Geert Wilders’ Fitna attempts, as far as I can tell, only to awaken us to the evil that is loose upon the world. To do so he uses the words of the Koran and of imams around the world. Interspersed there are some pieces of very graphic and disturbing events celebrated by the Islamists.

It is one of the most important videos you will ever watch.

There are those who will call what is in this video as fear mongering. I'm sure that claim is already up on some lefty websites and blogs. They can eat my shorts.

"A History Lesson"

Mostly Cajun has posted A History Lesson by Raymond S. Kraft that should be read by everyone.

Some excerpts:

The cost of not fighting and winning WW II would have been unimaginably greater - a world dominated by Japanese Imperialism and German Nazism.

The Iraq war has, so far, cost the United States about $160,000,000,000, which is roughly what the 9/11 terrorist attack cost New York. It has also cost about 3,000 American lives, which is roughly equivalent to lives that the Jihad killed (within the United States) in the 9/11 terrorist attack.

This is not a 60 Minutes TV show, or a two-hour movie in which everything comes out okay. The real world is not like that. It is messy, uncertain, and sometimes bloody and ugly. It always has been, and probably always will be.

The bottom line is that we will have to deal with Islamic terrorism until we defeat it, whenever that is. It will not go away if we ignore it.

----------------------------------------------

The Iraq War is merely another battle in this ancient and never-ending war. Now, for the first time ever, the barbarians are about to get nuclear weapons . . . unless somebody prevents them from getting them.

We have four options:

1. We can defeat the Jihad now, before it gets nuclear weapons.

2. We can fight the Jihad later, after it gets nuclear weapons (which may be as early as next year, if Iran’s progress on nuclear weapons is what Iran claims it is).

3. We can surrender to the Jihad and accept its dominance in the Middle East now, in Europe in the next few years or decades, and ultimately in America.

4. Or, we can stand down now, and pick up the fight later when the Jihad is more widespread and better armed, perhaps after the Jihad has dominated France and Germany and possibly most of the rest of Europe. It will, of course, be more dangerous, more expensive, and much bloodier.

If you oppose this war, I hope you like the idea that your children, or grandchildren, may live in an Islamic America under the Mullahs and the Sharia, an America that resembles Iran today.

We have a choice ahead of us. Sitting down to talk with the militant Islamist faction will not work. They have told us it will not work and on this I believe them. The Jihadists want nothing less than the world at their feet.

Right now, they are focused in one place and they are losing. If we do not press this fight to the end, they may come off the ropes and be able to carry on. If we leave the ring while they are still standing, we will have a much more difficult time of picking them out from the crowd of innocents with which they will surround themselves.

More of these stories please.

Why is it that you don’t hear many stories of these performers?

Robin Williams, Lance Armstrong in Kabul

KABUL, Afghanistan -- Robin Williams and Lance Armstrong took a swipe at the French, Kid Rock strummed "Sweet Home Alabama," comedian Lewis Black grumbled about the falling snow, and Miss USA told the troops to keep "kicking butt."

Williams, Armstrong and company have already performed in Qatar, Kuwait, Iraq and Afghanistan and will perform in Kyrgyzstan and Europe before returning home.

A big “Thanks” to all the performers who take the time to travel with the USO and put on shows to entertain the troops.

Faulty Fax Causes panic …

Where else but in Massachusetts. The same place where a cartoon promotion went south and the city of Boston shut down for the better part of a day.
A faulty bank fax printed a message that was misinterpreted as a bomb threat Wednesday, leading authorities to evacuate more than a dozen neighboring businesses and a day care center.
The pictures—a clock and a match lighting a bomb came through but not the text saying, “The countdown begins…Small Business Commitment Week June 4-8 Mark your Calendar.”
The branch manager of the Bank of America called police about 10 a.m. after receiving a fax containing images of a lit match and a bomb with a fuse
There may have been some extenuating circumstances which caused the branch manager to call the police:
Fears also arose because the branch received a suspicious package delivered by a customer around the same time, police said. A State Police bomb squad searched the bank branch and checked out the package, which was a delivery of documents.
But it still seems to me that the folks in Massachusetts are wound up so tight that they make they’d probably bounce like a super ball if you threw them against a wall.
About 15 small businesses in a shopping plaza were evacuated for about three hours, including a day care center with about 30 children, Police Chief Scott Rohmer said.
So the bank gets a “suspicious” fax and a package that turns out to be documents and everybody in the strip mall as to shut down. Now who will compensate those 15 businesses for lost income?

The fax was sent to the Charlotte, N.C.-based bank's branches in parts of New England, New York and New Jersey. It did not result in any other bomb scares at other branches, Anguilla said.

What if?

What if Richard Reid had succeeded in igniting his “shoe bomb” on American Airlines Flight 63 from Paris to Miami in 2001? What would have happened? There is now a video out there that shows what could have been and the results are quite shocking.
The footage — obtained by the News of the World from security sources — show the shoe-bomb blast tearing a hole through the metal fuselage as if it were tin foil.
Well, that’s basically because that’s what an airplane is. It’s just aluminum wrapped around an aluminum frame. It’s really quite amazing the damn things fly successfully.

And if something explodes inside? Think Jiffy Pop.

The way it should play out

This should be the ultimate goal in the Global War On Terror.

Sorry, this is sick.

But heaven forbid they should every see their child playing with a toy gun! Or—GASP—think about becoming a soldier!

The Family-Friendly Easter Bomb Hunt

It used to be that an Easter egg hunt was just an Easter egg hunt. It had no message beyond cute kids playing with colored eggs. Now the venerable White House Easter Egg Roll, which dates to the 1870s, has become an occasion for at least two groups to make a statement that is as much about politics as it is about the spring holiday.

Those were the good old days! Just when did they change?
"Obviously, we're trying to spoof a little bit what will be happening on the South Lawn," said Brian Hennessey of the Vineeta Foundation, a local human rights group founded in 1995 that is the lead sponsor of the cluster-bomb hunt. "We're not trying to hit kids over the head with this; we want them to have fun. We also want to bring attention to the fact that our munitions cause a lot of death and destruction to civilians, especially children."

But you don’t want to “hit kids over the head with this”? Really?
Last year, gay and lesbian parents were in the media spotlight, when a group of about 100 families donned rainbow-colored leis and waited in the overnight line for egg roll tickets. Their goal was visibility. "Our families just want to participate in a great American tradition," said Jennifer Chrisler, executive director of the Family Pride Coalition, the group that led the effort.

At least this group only wanted “visibility.” I’ve no problem with their participation. It’s the preachin’ I’ve got a problem with.
She said she understands why the White House event attracts groups with agendas to promote. "I think the fact of the matter is, politics has gotten infused into a lot of parts of American lives," she said.

Yeah and it’s a damn shame.
"This is a White House that has been fairly unresponsive to the sentiments of its people, and I'm not surprised that folks are going to great lengths to get the president's attention."

Tell you what, let’s see what happens if your sentiments are put up to a general referendum instead of court shopping. Then we’ll see if the White House is “unresponsive to the sentiments of its people.” Okay?

Back to the cluster bomb hunt:
He said he has read a few comments from people wondering if it is right to expose children to thoughts of bombings and death when all they are after is a pleasant holiday experience. "I think a more important question is whether we should be exposing other people's children to these bombs," he said.
What about all those Palestinian kids paraded about with toy guns and suicide bomb jackets? Got anything to say about that practice? No? (And if you want a positive experience in exposing the kids to death, try the Easter Sunday sermon. Much more positive that the stuff you're peddling.)
The event […] will include a search for weapons of mass destruction for the adults. "They'll all come back looking confused five minutes later, saying they couldn't find anything," Hennessey said.
Isn’t that clever! Do they get to search in Syria, too? Or dig up the entire park?
Another search, for Osama bin Laden, will turn up only photographs of Saddam Hussein, he said. A hulk of a large bomb will be filled with toy bombs, and a prize will be given to whoever guesses the number inside.
Are they going to get copies of the dozen or so UN resolutions Saddam thumbed his nose at? Why not have a large photo of the Kurds Hussein gassed and have people guess the number of bodies?
At a "teach-in" yesterday at a Northwest Washington community center, Hennessey and others helped the children fashion the fake bombs, using balloons, tennis balls and brightly colored clay. The adults told the children they could write their names on the "bombs" and take them home after Monday's event. And they tried to explain what the concerns were all about.
Goodness, won’t that make a conversation piece!

The John Doe Manifesto

Michelle Malkin has penned The John Doe Manifesto and has posted it on her blog as well as part of her column on Townhall.com. She first prefaces the Manifesto by explaining:
Earlier this month, six publicity-seeking imams filed a federal lawsuit against US Airways and the Metropolitan Airports Commission in Minneapolis/St. Paul. The Muslim clerics were removed from their flight last November and questioned for several hours after their suspicious behavior alarmed both passengers and crew members. Minneapolis Star Tribune columnist Katherine Kersten reported last week that the imams, advised by the grievance-mongers at the Council on American-Islamic Relations, also plan to sue "John Does" -- innocent bystanders who alerted the authorities about their security concerns.
She also mentions that several individuals and groups have stepped up to defend any “John Does” who may find themselves in litigation with these scum. Take a look at the Manifesto that Michelle has penned.
Dear Muslim Terrorist

Plotter/Planner/Funder/Enabler/Apologist,

You do not know me. But I am on the lookout for you. You are my enemy. And I am yours.

I am John Doe.

I am traveling on your plane. I am riding on your train. I am at your bus stop. I am on your street. I am in your subway car. I am on your lift.

I am your neighbor. I am your customer. I am your classmate. I am your boss.

I am John Doe.

I will never forget the example of the passengers of United Airlines Flight 93 who refused to sit back on 9/11 and let themselves be murdered in the name of Islam without a fight.

I will never forget the passengers and crew members who tackled al Qaeda shoe-bomber Richard Reid on American Airlines Flight 63 before he had a chance to blow up the plane over the Atlantic Ocean.

I will never forget the alertness of actor James Woods, who notified a stewardess that several Arab men sitting in his first-class cabin on an August 2001 flight were behaving strangely. The men turned out to be 9/11 hijackers on a test run.

I will act when homeland security officials ask me to "report suspicious activity."

I will embrace my local police department's admonition: "If you see something, say something."

I am John Doe.

I will protest your Jew-hating, America-bashing "scholars."

I will petition against your hate-mongering mosque leaders.

I will raise my voice against your subjugation of women and religious minorities.

I will challenge your attempts to indoctrinate my children in our schools.

I will combat your violent propaganda on the Internet.

I am John Doe.

I will support law enforcement initiatives to spy on your operatives, cut off your funding and disrupt your murderous conspiracies.

I will oppose all attempts to undermine our borders and immigration laws.

I will resist the imposition of sharia principles and sharia law in my taxi cab, my restaurant, my community pool, the halls of Congress, our national monuments, the radio and television airwaves, and all public spaces.

I will not be censored in the name of tolerance.

I will not be cowed by your Beltway lobbying groups in moderates' clothing. I will not cringe when you shriek about "profiling" or "Islamophobia."

I will put my family's safety above sensitivity. I will put my country above multiculturalism.

I will not submit to your will. I will not be intimidated.

I am John Doe.

I like it. I like it a lot.

Hypocrits and Liars

Come again?

When you listen to the news today (doesn't matter which day anymore, BDS runs rampant throughout the Democratic party) keep the words of the Democrats speaking in this video in mind. If you can do that and not think "Hypocrites!" in light current pressure to end the Iraq War...you need to watch the video again.

Shadow Wolves go to War

Michelle Malkin has a post up today about a new development in the war on terror and the search for Osama bin Laden. Seems an elite group of the Shadow Wolves will be traveling to Afghanistan.

I wrote last week (Shadow Wolves ) about the activities of a group from the Navajo tribe along the Arizona-Mexico border. The unit heading overseas is made up not just of Navajo, but Sioux, Lakota and Apache as well.
US Defence Secretary Robert M.Gates said last month: "If I were Osama bin Laden, I'd keep looking over my shoulder."

Got that right!

Ya gotta love the Shadow Wolves’ motto: "In brightest day, in darkest night, no evil shall escape my sight, for I am the Shadow Wolf."

Here’s the link to the Smithsonian profile on the Shadow Wolves that Michele says Tigerhawk posted on his site. (Dang! How did I miss that yesterday?) Ms. Malkin has a few more links that are worth a visit, so get on over there.

Must See Video

The video GUYK has a link to here is frightening and enlightening. But, as he says in his post, I fear he may be preaching to the choir.

BTW: I’m adding GUYK’s blog Charming, Just Charmingto my list to the right. I find many of his post amusing and some extremely thought provoking. (Although the language can get a tad salty at times. ;-) Go over and read some of the humorous posts like this one: The Purina Diet Story. (Just put the coffee down first.)

UPDATE: Blogger is giving me a problem with the sidebar update. I've been trying to add the link there but it won't take without bumping Confederate Yankee off the list for some reason. I'll keep trying. *sigh*

UPDATE 2: Finally, after many attempts, I have succeeded in getting Charming, Just Charming on the Blogroll to the right without bumping CY off. I do have two entries for Confederate Yankee in my HTML...but hey, it works!
