Saints 31, Colts 17

Congratulations to the New Orleans Saints on their victory over the Indy Colts yesterday in Super Bowl XLIV.

They got off to a slow start falling behind 10-0 in the first quarter but out played the Colts from then on.

Drew Brees was chosen as the MVP. He was 32 for 39 for 288 yards and two TDs and one 2-point conversion. In contrast, Payton Manning was 31 or 45 for 333 yards and had one TD and one fatal interception (returned 74 yards by Tracy Porter for a TD with just 3:12 left in the game).

The Saints clearly outplayed the Colts. Since we didn't follow either team, I don't know if the Colts were over-rated or just played poorly. But they didn't look good.

I finally won a bet with my son. I always take the underdog and until yesterday, never won.

Rev. Despite going 14-0 I think the Colts might have been a tad over-rated. Thier defensive secondary was weak and their run game on offense weaker. They should get better at both with experience.

Dudley, Did Frank give you points, too? (Hope you didn't take too much of the poor guys money.)
