Hope and Change

A little hope and change" (or maybe "shuck and jive") on the weather front this morning. The Freeze Warning has been dropped to be replaced by a Frost Warning.

Issued by The National Weather Service
State College, PA
5:50 am EDT, Sun., May. 31, 2009

... FROST ADVISORY IN EFFECT FROM 2 AM TO 8 AM EDT MONDAY...

THE NATIONAL WEATHER SERVICE IN STATE COLLEGE HAS ISSUED A FROST ADVISORY... WHICH IS IN EFFECT FROM 2 AM TO 8 AM EDT MONDAY. THE FREEZE WATCH IS NO LONGER IN EFFECT.

AN UNSEASONABLY COLD AIR MASS WILL OVERSPREAD THE REGION LATE TODAY AND TONIGHT. CLEAR SKIES AND LIGHT WINDS WILL ALLOW TEMPERATURES TO FALL INTO THE LOW AND MID 30S LATE TONIGHT ACROSS THE NORTHERN MOUNTAINS WITH AREAS OF FROST.

So instead of getting into the 20s it will "only" get to the low 30s. That's good...right? My tomatoes will still get covered. The beans and squash will have to fend for themselves.

I like the idea of the cows giving ice cream. Alas...I fear they won't. I was talking to my brother about the freeze warnings here and we are going to go by our own feelings. I don't trust the weather men saying the valley won't get it. They are predicting too darned cold just half a county to the north. Hope you stay above freezing.

We got nothing but cold here in SW Ohio this morning. It is cold enough for shoes and socks and long-sleeved shirts.

You probably don't remember when people lived and died at home and endured wakes. I wrote about it here. http://bing-it.blogspot.com/
