The man was riding his mountain bike along the park trails with his two dogs ranging ahead of him. (Obviously not on any leash or restraint.) They came upon a bear, possibly one with two cubs that had been reported in the area earlier in the day, and it attacked first the dogs and then the man. The man was mauled pretty badly but was able to cycle out of the park after the bear cut off the attack.
So the response is to do what?
A state Department of Fish and Wildlife officer was gathering a team of dogs, with the intent of finding the bear and euthanizing it.
Yeah, they want to kill the bear.
Folks, letting your dogs run free in bear country (or any park that I'm aware of) is a big no-no. Getting between a Mama bear and her cubs or just too close for her comfort is an even bigger mistake.
I’m a hunter and fisherman but I really hope she and her cubs have gotten far away from the site of the attack.

Taking dawgs into bear country is a no no unless you are planning on using the dawgs to tree the bear. Yipping dawgs attract bear like a worm attracts a fish..just something else to eat.
