Just as I suspected, the Syracuse Orange were the sacrificial lamb in their match up with Washington last night. Yeah, they got out to that early lead at 3-0 in the first quarter, but it didn't last very long. By halftime it was 14-6 Washington and it got worse, mush worse, in the second half. The final score? 42-12 Washington Huskies.
Let's face it, it's been a long time since Syracuse fielded a strong team. Right now they look to be the last place team in the Big East. But they do have a shot of crawling out of that hole if they can muster wins against Pittsburgh and Connecticut, two programs that have also come up against difficult times in the Big East. And the Orange play both of those clubs on the road.
It might just be a long, frustrating season for the Orange of Syracuse--again.
