While I was out birding this morning, Terry stayed home to take delivery of a huge load of top soil. It's currently sitting in th ward covered with tarps (protection against the forecast rain) and looking ominously like work.
I'll need to use the shovel and wheelbarrow to fill the areas behind the retaining wall first with some stone and then with the top soil. Anything left over will go into raised beds I still have to construct.
Oh joy!

I never use a wheelbarrow..I don't know a damn thing about machinery. But I do have a four wheel wagon that I pull behind my tractor that is easy to dump...now if I could just find one of those Mexican backhoes with a handle that my hands would fit...
you will be in good company, i'm having 10 yards delivered next thursday and have to barrow it from the drive across the property about seventy feet, to fill in the hole left by removing our above ground pool. i'm not really looking forward to this.
Yeah, wheelbarrows are tough to deal with if things are not too level. I've got to move the soil only about 10 yards from where it's piled up. That or just shovel it.
As for the Mexican backhoe, the one I have seems to fit too well. I'd rather use it as a DOT leaning post but the dirt will have to be moved and my psychokenetic powers won't cut it.
