American Goldfinch

I also mentioned that the Goldfinches are becoming more and more yellow. here's a study in contrast to prove my point.

American Goldfinch on March 1st is still in it's Winter plumage.

American Goldfinch on April 2nd has nearly completed it's molt to its Summer colors.

Very colorful. Kinda wish we had some that color up here. Mostly we get black & white, and monochrome gets old after awhile.

American Goldfinches do show up in Texas my friend. But if there is nothing in your yard to keep them, they just fly by. Thistle feeders, bird baths...you have to give them a reason to say Hello. :)
