We are currently sitting in Whitehorse after successfully making our way from Fairbanks back to Tok (Day 46) and then from Tok to Destruction Bay (Day 47) and finally from Destruction Bay to Whitehorse. Almost all of this was old territory as we backtracked our route from Whitehorse to Tok. I did take some pictures, however, as the weather was just marvelous with clear skies and not a hint of rain. What clouds we had enhanced the views rather than obscured them. I'll have to get these posts up sometime tomorrow (Day 48). I should have plenty of time to do so as it will be a free day created when we had to cancel our trip from Tok to Dawson City and then to Whitehorse due to the near complete washout of the Top Of The World Highway from Chicken, AK to Dawson City, YT. Word is that there have been four fatalities, the major bridge along the route is not safe for travel, there are canyons where culverts used to be and that they have two or three carravans trapped for lack of fuel and--soon--food. (Some of this is undoubtedly rumor, but believable rumor.)
Oh well. Mother Nature is not to be trifled with.
I shall do my best to get all my picutres posted on the morrow. There are three other caravans in the campground tonight--most of them have in the neighborhood of 20 rigs. I'm sure that's putting a dent in the old bandwidth availble as, despite a strong signal, downloads and uploads are slow, slower and slower still. Perhaps when asome of them leave tomorrow morning....

You're better off not having tried to follow the other road - Gov. Parnell just declared the entire stretch a disaster area.
