Rutgers’ Men Open Big East Play With Win
The Scarlet Knights opened Big East play this afternoon defeating the Seton Hall Pirates 82-78.
The Big East’s leading scorer, Quincy Douby, led the Scarlet Knights with 29 points while Kelly Whitney also scored 29 for the Pirates. Anthony Farmer added 17 points for RU and teammates JR Inman had 14 and Adrian Hill 10. Pirates in double figures included Jamar Nutter and Donald Copelnad with 17 points each.
RU shot 79% (33 for 42) from the free throw line and 35% (7-20) from three-point range.
Rutgers improves to 11-3, 1-0 in the Big East.
Seton Hall is now 9-4, 1-1 in the Big East.
Next up for the Rutgers’ Men is No. 3 Villanova at the RAC on January 11th.
