Well, well. Look who is leading.

When I went to bed last night Dallas Seavey was sitting in Cripple admiring the gold nuggets he won for being the first to arrive at that checkpoint. He got their without taking his 24-hour rest, however and so sat in place as (as of now) 13 mushers who had stayed at Takotna came and went.

Now, with the 24-hour rests and time corrections having been taken, position starts to mean something even though there's a long, long way to go to Nome.

So, who's on top of the leader board right now?
That slot belongs to four-time winner Jeff King. But he can't rest easy! A half hour or so behind him out of Cripple was the winner of the last three Iditarods, Lance Mackey.

Top Five

1. Jeff King
2. Lance Mackey
3. Hugh Nuff
4. Mitch Seavey
5. Aliy Zirkle
