In looking over the scores for last week's games, the Penn State drubbing of Coastal Carolina (66-10) stands out. But it was not the worst defeat of the weekend.
No, that distinction belongs to the Vandals of Idaho University. They not only got shutout but gave up 70 points while doing so. Yeah, Arizona scored a school record 49 points int he first half before cruising to a 70-0 victory over the hapless Vandal squad.
The game was delayed at the start for an hour when a heavy thunderstorm hit the area and it rained for much of the game. I bet the Vandals were real happy to have traveled down from Moscow for that.
My son is a graduate of Idaho.
As is Governor Palin.
Perhaps she can talk to the Governor of Idaho and arrange disaster relief or something. maybe the team could be exiled to Tattu Island at the far end of the Aleutians.
