Black Bear Chooses to Hibernate Under Poconos’ Porch

The 600 to 700 pound male black bear had camped out under the porch of the home where two young children live and just across the street from the school bus stop.

What do you call school kids waiting for the bus? Snacks with packs.

They’ll tranquilize the bear and then take it to a den in one of the states game management areas. Since the bear hunting season is over, it should be safe until next fall or unless it chooses to traipse through a housing development.
