On the road to *spit* NJ today, again

We're heading on east to NJ today to celebrate Christmas Eve with my sister and her family and then Christmas Day with the Mother-in-law and my daughter. Lots of good food and family will be on hand.

Here's hoping you and your's have a very Merry Christmas, too.

Merry Christmas, joated! My advice to you: Get in, get out! Don't spend a second longer than you need to in da GAHden State.

Well the trip into Pompton Plains, NJ went very smoothly. The traffic on I-80 was virtually nonexistent until we reached Stroudsburg but even that cleared up once on the east side of the Delaware Water Gap. (Although there were some late shoppers at the Rockaway Mall. Noon on Christmas Eve...Who leaves their shopping until that late?

Actually, I like the northwest corner and the south parts of NJ. It's the northeast (inside the I-287 loop) and Route 1 corridor that I find troubling. If Trenton, Camden, all of Hudson, Essex and Union counties, as well as eastern Passaic and Bergen counties were to suddenly vanish, NJ could get back to being a decent state.
