Was the Mouse An Arsonist?

Luciano Mares, who first said a mouse burned down his house and then said it was the wind (Let This Be a Lesson), now says it was the mouse after all. (N.M. Man Supports House-Burning Mouse Tale)

Sigh. It should be clear to all that the truth is the easiest story to stick to. Once you start to fabricate a story two things happen: 1) you're bound to make mistakes in the retelling and these will screw you; 2) once caught in a lie, people will have a difficult time believing anything else you say (unless you're running for Congress that is).
